To increase participation in sport or physical activity amongst all sectors of the population and to maximise the use of resources i.e. volunteers, facilities, etc. Programmes include: Men on the Move, Meet and Train, Fit Walk, Goal to Work for Unemployed, Link2BActive, Disability Sports Programmes.
This is a six week programme to adults living with long term or ongoing health conditions. Over the six 2.5 hourly weekly sessions individuals will have the opportuniity to develop their skills and confidence in becoming active self managers.

The Family Centre, Castlebar offer two social prescribing projects Healthy Options Project Erris (HOPE) and the flourish Project based in Castlebar
Social Prescribing is about linking people to activities and groups in their area that they might enjoy and from which they may benefit. Getting involved in the right type of social and leifure activities or groups can ofter really help to support you with aspects of daily life that might seem challenging of isolating. Your can work with our project worker on a one to one basis of attend our popular Discover Your Interests Course. this can help you discover easy and supportive ways to become less isolated socially. Both projects offer a free and confidential service. the HOPE prioject is based in the Erris area. The FLOURISH project is based in the Family Centre, Chapel St, Castlebar.
